I solved it.
We need affirmative action only in terms of socioeconomic status, and stop any affirmative action on the basis of race, gender, religion, etc.
The real problems with "institutional racism" are due to generational poverty, and I agree these are huge problems. Poverty maps onto race to a certain degree, but it doesnt work the other way around (race as such doesnt cause poverty, but poverty does skew toward certain race)... so the answer is to level out between equally intelligent people of poor and non-poor.
Can you imagine, affirmative action of SES only? Two people interview for a job or apply to a school, both are highly qualified or intelligent but one is poor and the other is not poor, therefor the law mandates the poor person get hired or admitted to the school. What an interesting idea. I will need to think about this more.
At the very least this would do far, far more to fix racial disparities in terms of poverty, education and success than current affirmative action, which is an atrocity.
