'Mortal as I am, I know that I am born for a day. But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of the stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the earth.'

Let's transform and roll out. The red carpet, truth struts on high heels, contradicting her dignity and calling attention. Sirens go off, an age of sin is sometimes condensed in a few seconds. Psychosis. Men with premature beards and love of dangerous ledges. Philosophy is the bearded walk along that ledge, between being and non being, and it is always looking for a reason to say: Ha! I've seen enough! and jump into full being. Perhaps it's the fear of his own free will that prevents him this moment, perhaps he will gradually realize it's walking the ledge that all life attempts. And now his discernment allows him to see himself as not separate; as one in fact with all those who balance their will with their fear, their love with their modesty and common sense; but modesty is historical truthfulness, and for me love is the same; I am a philosopher because I asked a good question; how can things relate?

It was always given that things exist by relating. It was just seen, not hard to see. A sensible peasant can see it if he thinks aloud about the process of his life. But how do things relate? Can the peasant stand separately of what the process means to him, to see that it also means something to the cow? Hopefully not. Ignorance is not so much bliss (I find knowing to be quite blissful in its own right) as it is simply economical. What Nietzsche says about consciousness as something that can be overcome by more 'efficient' forms always struck me as humorously extremist in its nihilism, as well as ultimately quite plausible in terms of life as pure overcoming. But overcoming what? What are we overcoming? According to N's pure ontology of the human pathos we are overcoming the one-ness of the Primordial One, we are living so as to not be a whole, which by phenomenalistic origins we are.

This lives in a time where the world as a phenomenon had just been discovered. N was perhaps not aware as much as we are of the individual depths of great multitudes as we must realistically attribute to the teenagers of the 1950s. These were times that allowed man a freedom to shape himself lie no other time had ever been able to allow; the world wars effectively united the western man under one term: America. If you happened to be American, and young or powerful at that time, boy you had it made, like no man had ever had it in the past. No Persian king or Greek hero had such a world before him. Only by their failures can we see the true nature of the world and its monstrosity. [[[" Decepticons.... retreat!!!"]]]
