Leftists are hedonists

And a special kind of hedonism that has no grounding under itself, there is a literal nothingness underneath the psychological circle of hedonism of the leftist and this nothingness exists precisely to allow the hedonism to never be forced to experience something, ie reality, that would disrupt the hedonic continuity. If reality were allowed to intrude this would disrupt the hedonism by tying it into something alien to itself, something based not on pleasure but on responsibility, not on “desire” but on truth. Therefore the purpose of the nothingness or void underneath the circle of hedonism in the psyche of the leftist is simply to continue existing, to keep the nothingness afloat underneath the mind.

This nothingness is self-reinforcing in how it actively excludes reality. The leftist (empty anti-reality hedonist) can only deal with reality when the reality being dealt with is not intrusive upon the hedonic circle itself, and therefore it is the nothingness which takes up the role of mediating between “good and bad” realities. The “good” realities are those that exist somewhere up within the hedonic structure, or are at least not associated to deeper chains and branches of reality extending down into the nothingness... the “bad” realities are precisely these which do extend more deeply, and the experiences of which are immediately dissolved by the nothingness itself which denies them.

You can be talking to a leftist and they will be perfectly sane, rational, engaged in some aspect of reality, but as soon as you bring up an aspect of reality that is outside the range of those realities assembled and trapped in their hedonic superstructure, the leftist immediately stops existing. You can watch this happen in real time. Only realities whose implications fail directly into one of the leftist’s desires or pleasures are able to be processed by the leftist, all others are immediately dissolved by the self-feeding nothingness at the bottom of their psyche. This whole process is also how political correctness works; PC is simply an outward extension of this same process, whereby any reality outside of the established domain of “desire and/or pleasure” is shunted out of existence in a social sense, simply cannot be discussed in conversation or even thought about.

In contrast, regular psychology (non-leftist) operates with a basis of reality contact at the bottom of the desire and pleasure hierarchies. Indeed, desires and pleasures are formed up naturally into hierarchies of values, and at the bottom of these is some degree of hard reality contact, an established principle which is itself outside of the logic of only desire or only pleasure (or only desire plus pleasure). This deeper reality contact plane is more like Swiss cheese, it has many holes which act like little nothingnesses, little voids through which certain aspects or reality cannot be seen or acknowledged; this is natural, as most people have certain psychological blinders and limits, but there exists too a lattice work of hard reality contacts despite this.

The leftist is someone who has obliviated this Swiss cheese structure entirely, not by turning it more solid and with less holes as should be the goal, but by enlarging the holes and combining them until there is nothing left but one gigantic hole. This is precisely WHY they are hedonists..! ..because when the Swiss cheese structure of principled hard reality contacts is gone, nothing else exists except the structure of desires plus pleasures, now being unable to maintain themselves as a proper value hierarchy due to the breakdown of reality contacts which provided the basis and ground level structure for the upper floors of the values themselves. So everything sort of collapses into itself and can only be held together by force, an artificial force of a frenzy of undifferentiated and isolated values that nonetheless must be seen as if they were all “one thing”, because they cannot be differentiated. This “one thing” is the affective or emotional-proprioceptive “mood” or personality of the leftist, which may seem quite normal until provoked in such a way that would require a hierarchy of values to appear, would require a rank ordering of some kind which the leftist is absolutely unable to manage.
