Kong-zi (Confucius): The Analects Empty

Another important piece of classic eastern philosophy. Note the emphasis on filial piety, something found also in the Tao Te Ching: "When the six relations lost their harmony, there appeared filial piety and paternal kindness." (Chapter 18, Wu translation) It is far more ubiquitous in The Analects, and you may want to look into ancestor worship and its prevalence in the general era of Kong-zi ('general era', as the precise date of his birth and death are left to legend). It should also be noted that whether or not the man Kong-zi authored these texts is up for debate.
