| Another important piece of classic eastern philosophy. Note the emphasis on filial piety, something found also in the Tao Te Ching: "When the six relations lost their harmony, there appeared filial piety and paternal kindness." ( Chapter 18, Wu translation) It is far more ubiquitous in The Analects, and you may want to look into ancestor worship and its prevalence in the general era of Kong-zi ('general era', as the precise date of his birth and death are left to legend).
