Did you play Dungeons and Dragons? My friends were also into that, I envied them in a way their magic ritual, I knew it was cool to be in it but it was just not my kind of protocol. Although the platonic solid dice are beautiful.

The board games I enjoyed most were Risk and Stratego. I was extremely conservative as a Childe.
It occurred to me first when playing Stratego that apparently not everyone is aware of the most basic strategic ideas like placing a sergeant between the bomb and the flag. Its a really beautiful game, very actually warlike. About layers of protection with very little resources, deceit.
