It is so sad how it has become that, given the origin, which was a fire in the heart of German, Italian and Russian workers, who finally felt a means to value themselves -

but they were misled all along.
They were in such dire shit that this mistake Marx offered them gave them a few decades of truly self-valuing fire, until they had reached the surface of positive existence and exited hell, and then they remained on the surface and didn't dare to dive in to reality and value themselves as beings rather than as "the hordes of the good vs the objective enemy", and then it all became super easy to use them for any purpose whatsoever by just writing in the newspaper "x is against you, red-bro-victim, and you need to sacrifice your being some more to attack x".

"Mafia Effect’ Keeps Islamic Terrorism at Bay in Italy: Report

Italy has managed to avoid the brutal consequences of Islamist terrorism thanks to its decades-long war on powerful organized crime, according to a new article in the UK-based Economist magazine.
“The fight against Italy’s formidably organised criminals has given its police a wealth of experience in monitoring tightly knit target groups,” the article states. “It was enhanced by the campaign to subdue the left- and right-wing terrorists who wrought havoc in Italy in the 1970s and 1980s.”

Despite repeated threats against Italy, and Rome in particular, the Islamic State has so far been thwarted in its efforts to bring down the wrath of Allah on the Italian peninsula.

In one of its videos titled “Meeting at Dabiq,” the Islamic State portrayed its vision of the end of the world culminating in an epic battle in Rome between Islam and the West. The film depicted Islamist militants marching toward Rome’s Coliseum and foretold of a final battle for world domination to be fought in Rome between Islamist true believers and Western “crusaders.”

Yet although Italy is a prime target for jihadists, it stands out as one of the only European countries to have never suffered loss of life to Islamic terrorism.

Italian police displayed a confiscated Islamic State (IS) during a press conference on anti-terrorism operation at the police headquarters in Rome. (Photo credit TIZIANA FABI/AFP/Getty Images)

According to the Economist, experience with the Mafia has “encouraged judges to take a more expansive attitude than in other European countries to issuing warrants for wiretaps and particularly to the electronic surveillance of suspects’ conversations.”

“Italy’s recent history may also explain its hardline approach to apologists for terrorism,” it reads.

But experts suggest that Italy’s experience with the Mafia does not fully explain its success in eluding Islamic terrorist attacks.

“The main difference is Italy doesn’t have a big population of second-generation immigrants that have been radicalised or could potentially be radicalised,” said Francesca Galli, an assistant professor at Maastricht University and an expert in counter-terrorism policies.

According to the Pew Research Center, Italy’s Muslim population is only about half that of France, both as a percentage of its overall population and in absolute terms. The percentage of Muslims living in Italy is also substantially lower than it is Germany, Belgium, or Great Britain.

Italy has increased security at its historic monuments in the Vatican, Rome and Milan after a warning from the FBI of possible jihadist attacks, media reports said yesterday. (Photo by ANDREAS SOLARO/AFP/Getty Images)

A smaller Muslim population means that ghettoized areas that have become seedbeds of Islamic terror in Paris’s St. Denis area or the Molenbeek district of Brussels simply do not exist in Italy. With its current crisis of mass immigration from northern Africa, the situation in Italy may be different in the future, but for the moment there are fewer opportunities for Islamic radicalization in Italy.

Italian counterterrorism units are also notoriously unapologetic about adopting measures that more squeamish cultures shy away from, another result of years of fighting organized crime. Strategic and tactical differences include a greater willingness to profile potential terrorists and to immediately deport foreigners who pose a terror threat.

According to the Italy’s interior ministry, counterterrorism forces stopped and questioned 160,593 people between March 2016 to March 2017. They also interrogated some 34,000 people at airports and arrested around 550 suspected terrorists, sentencing 38 on terrorism charges. They have also shut down over 500 websites while monitoring nearly half a million more.

There is no Europe besides Rome.
Germany is currently Romes main steward.
But whoever gains power in Europe it is all only to represent that glorious Wolfspawn.

11 HOURS AGO by Ralph Atkins in Vienna and Guy Chazan in Berlin
This summer, Europe’s mainstream leaders had hoped the election of centrist president Emmanuel Macron in France marked the end of the continent’s populist upsurge. But Sunday’s elections in Austria show that, for the traditional postwar parties, the threat from the right is far from vanquished.

Christian Kern, the country’s defeated Social Democratic chancellor, summed up the resurgence on Sunday evening. Austria, he said, had experienced a “massive slide to the right” after the far-right Freedom party secured its best result in two decades.

The contest in Austria, which often serves as a political bellwether in Europe, was a reminder of how, two years on from the continent’s migration crisis, populist forces are still able to harness widespread anger over the issue to make electoral gains and influence national politics.

Sebastian Kurz, Austria’s 31-year-old foreign minister, topped Sunday’s poll but only after overhauling his centre-right People’s party, which has been in government for the past 30 years, and embracing many of the hardline immigration policies of the Freedom party.

In the event, the Freedom party still took 26 per cent of the vote, its best result since 1999, when it was headed by the charismatic Jörg Haider.

Austria’s decision to allow the far right party into coalition in 1999 prompted the EU to briefly impose sanctions on Vienna, the first time such measures had been enacted against a member state.

The Freedom party’s gains in Sunday’s poll come just three weeks after its German counterpart, the anti-immigration Alternative for Germany, scored an unprecedented 13 per cent in Bundestag elections, scooping up 92 seats in the 709-seat parliament. It was the best performance by a far-right party in Germany since the second world war.

That election saw Angela Merkel win a fourth term as chancellor but the victory was pyrrhic: her conservative bloc scored their worst result since 1949 and will now have to cobble together a three-way coalition with the liberal FDP and Greens, two parties divided by deep ideological differences.

The woman who for many is Europe’s most powerful leader emerged from the election weakened politically. That could undermine her ability to take the critical leadership role she has assumed in previous EU crises.

It is all a far cry from the summer, when the defeat of the National Front’s Marine Le Pen in the French presidential elections suggested that the appeal of Europe’s populists had peaked.

That came after an election in the Netherlands in March when prime minister Mark Rutte’s centre-right VVD saw off a challenge from Geert Wilders’ anti-Islam Freedom party. In Brussels, EU leaders argued the populist tide exemplified by Donald Trump’s victory in the US and the UK’s Brexit vote finally had turned.

A political shadow looms over the world economy
How to beat populism in Europe
“For Europe, this is a positive signal, a signal of hope,” Jean-Claude Juncker, the European Commission president, said after Mr Macron’s victory in France.

European politicians had panicked after the Brexit and US votes, said Heather Grabbe, an expert on populism at the Open Society European Policy Institute in Brussels, but the Macron victory led many to believe the challenge from the far right had been overcome.

“The swing this year has gone too far towards complacency . . . the structural factors that led to the rise of populism are still there — especially the many voters who don’t feel represented by the big-tent parties of centre right and left,” said Ms Grabbe.

The EU now faces political turbulence from multiple directions, with the Catalan independence crisis being just the latest sign of rising nationalism.

It remains deeply split over how to deal with the millions of refugees who have come to the continent since 2015, with the rightwing governments in Poland and Hungary continuing to defy attempts by Brussels to reallocate migrants among the member states and thus ease the pressure on Greece and Italy.

Brexit also continues to cast a pall, especially after the latest round of talks between British and EU negotiators ended in deadlock.

Germany, meanwhile, is weighing Mr Macron’s speech in September setting out proposals for a deep reform of the bloc.

In Austria, Mr Kurz is expected to move quickly to reassure allies of his pro-European credentials. He has set a “pro-Europe” government programme as a condition for coalition talks.

While the Freedom party is aligned with the governments of Poland and Hungary, Mr Kurz said during the election campaign that he would reassert Austria’s traditional role as a “bridge” between west and east Europe and try to defuse conflicts.

Nevertheless, as chancellor, Mr Kurz will still press for EU institutional reforms. He wants speedier decision-making and rejects many of Mr Macron’s integrationist ideas, arguing for a return of powers to national governments.

Amid the more sombre mood, this week’s EU summit, which many believed would show that the bloc had come back from the brink and was ready to look with optimism into the future, will be a lot less triumphant than had been hoped.

Lollo. Yea.
The EU has been consolidated as Germanic territory, and now that this has happened, the German speaking voices are stirring.
For over 70 years theyve kept quiet as mouses, convincing everyone they had turned to liberals, cultural and ethnic negators, agents of the flaccid will. Then France, Holland and England go through crucial transformations that weaken them with respect to the Germans, settling the EU into German hands. Directly as that happens, the Germanic interior forces begin to reveal that they aren't actually dead.

In both world wars Germany started out on the defence. Their economic strategy is similar. They are just more careful than their neighbours. Being more careful for 70 years pays off.

Now, we get some really good news from Austria.

NYTIMES weeps:

cuckster 54434 P wrote:

An anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim party won the Austrian elections on Sunday, and its leader might form a government with a party founded by ex-Nazis.

So much for the hopes of spring that election results in the Netherlands and France hinted that the political tide in Europe had turned away from the far right. Last month, Alternative for Germany became the first far-right party to enter Germany’s Parliament since World War II, winning 13 percent of the vote and 94 parliamentary seats.

In Austria, the leader of the victorious People’s Party, Sebastian Kurz, 31, has tried to put a fresh, young face on his stodgy conservative party, changing its traditional black color to a trendy turquoise. But there’s nothing forward-looking about his platform, which taps into the fears that the 90,000 migrants Austria took in from 2015 to 2016 are siphoning away social benefits from hard-working Austrians, and that Muslims pose a cultural and security threat.

And according to preliminary results, the Freedom Party, founded by ex-Nazis in the 1950s, was in a race for second, with about 26 percent of the vote, to the People’s Party’s more than 31 percent. A coalition government of the two parties could be in the cards.

Like right-wing extremists elsewhere in Europe, the Freedom Party enjoys good relations with people close to President Trump. A delegation of Freedom Party leaders attended an election-night party in Trump Tower last November, and a party leader, Heinz-Christian Strache, posted on Facebook that he had met with Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Flynn. And, like other right-wing European parties, it has close ties with President Vladimir Putin of Russia.

This presents a challenge to Mr. Kurz. “We have to establish a new political style in this country,” he told supporters on Sunday, “we have to create a new culture.” But if this is what he really wants to achieve, he must reject the Freedom Party, its ugly past, its unholy relationships with the Kremlin and with the baser impulses of the Trump administration, and form — as he well can — his new government with either the center-left Social Democrats, which received nearly 27 percent of the vote, or in coalition with a group of smaller parties.

Mr. Kurz is staunchly pro-European. Only by rejecting the hatred and divisions of the past can his new government play a constructive role in shaping a future for Austria and for Europe, where nationalist fears must be tackled by addressing citizens’ legitimate concerns about security and economic fairness without ceding ground to xenophobes.

Yeah, it would be a shame if Austria started erasing its history like many here in America are doing at this very moment.

I wish the young man great success.

I have to admit, Steve isn't afraid to speak out against what he thinks is messed up in the USA.

Trump is trying to bring change. Obama promised change but didn't deliver. We'll see how well Trump does.

Nice. The only sensibly person in politics I know is Trump, and to a lesser extent Rand Paul, who was assaulted and put in the hospital by his crazy SJW neighbor, which received almost no real media coverage.

A very interesting fb post
Progressive Circle-based Value thinking is penetrating the business world.

Sam Oven wrote:
Never aim for your goal directly, always move in angles.
This defies basic human logic because most people believe if they want to "make some money" they should try and "make some money".
Most companies that aim to just make money rarely make any money. This is because money derives from value and value derives from helping people.
When you aim to "just make money" you're blinded by the money and you forget the most important thing - helping people by adding value.
For most of my life I only understood the "direct approach". I could only see things logically by drawing straight lines and aiming for my goals directly. After years of struggling I started to realize that most of my achievements came indirectly.
Almost all of my achievements were accidental. They were indirect byproducts created by trying to achieve something else. It was like my accidents were more successful than my plans.
How could this be?
This idea fascinated me and it became my obsession.
I scoured the earth looking for answers. I read books, watched documentaries and dug into one of the most feverish searches of my entire life. Everywhere I looked I found occurrences of the same thing. The world was full of indirect discoveries.
For years I felt like I had the tail of something big, but nothing came of it...
Then one day it hit me!
Nature never moves in straight lines but basic human logic does. Nature creates perfect order from chaos. Human logic creates chaos from order. Nature was an indirect thinker, it always moved in angles and it was very good at it.
This discovery changed my perspective on everything.
I was blind but now I could see.
I started applying the indirect approach to everything in my life including my business. My business was doing ok but it was stagnant, indifferent and unexciting. It was the result of direct straight line thinking and it always had me frustrated.
I looked upon my business with new eyes and everything became clear to me. I was too logical, too rigid and too planned. I could only see in straight lines. I couldn't see how everything was interconnected.
I started to aim for my goals indirectly and taking the opposite view that I had done in the past. The results were astonishing. My business went from being stagnant, un-exciting and barely profitable to a rapidly growing $20m /year machine.
This year Forbes featured me on their "30 Under 30" list with a net worth of $65,000,000 and I was able to retire my parents to the Caribbean as a way to thank them for supporting me when nobody else would.
What changed?
How did my life and business go from being unexciting, stagnant and nothing special to the place where it's at today?
It took new eyes, a new perspective and a polar shift from the direct to the indirect.
There's countless things this change in thinking has presented to me but I decided to make a list of the top three so that you can start applying them to your own life and business today. This isn't your typical business advice but then again, these aren't typical business results.
Here's the three things:
1. The Self Illusion
In business there’s one enemy you will come up against again and again. This enemy will make you question yourself and doubt your every move. It’s like a dark force that has you by the heels. A monster that’s breathing down your neck.
This enemy is you.
When I got started in business I was shy, awkward, clueless, poor, horrible at managing money and had no idea how the world worked. I believed this was “me” and it paralyzed me from taking action. By far the biggest challenge I had to face was loosing myself, my character and my identity of who I was.
Society has phrases like “Be yourself”. “Stick to your roots”. “Don’t forget where you came from”. Have you ever stopped to think about who you really are? Where is this thing you call the self? The self doesn’t exist, it’s merely you clinging to an identity built up of stories about the past.
It’s been my observation that the only way to achieve success is to become the person who deserves it. When we become this new person we are no longer ourselves. You see, this is the issue with our understanding. We believe we are something when we aren’t anything.
To succeed in business you have to change who you are. You have to constantly evolve. This is impossible when you cling to your identity and believe you are the way you are. You have to slaughter your self image.
Instead of answering the question “Who am I?” Try answering the question “Who am I becoming”. Decide who you need to be to be successful and then grow into that new character. All the worlds a stage and we are merely actors.
2. The Mirror
People don’t have business problems, they have life problems that reflect in their business.
Most people try to start a business by focusing on logical business things like their website, sales skills, marketing etc. When they experience a business problem they think it’s a business problem and they attempt to solve it by focusing on the same things. This rarely works.
To put it simply, business is like a mirror. It’s like holding a mirror up to yourself and looking at the reflection. Whatever habits and behaviors you display yourself will be reflected right back at you in your business. As above, so below.
Let me give you some examples:
Most people believe that nobody will pay for their skills and they won’t get customers. They don’t believe in investing in themselves so how can they believe others will invest in them? They’re seeing a mirrored image of their own belief.
We see this with sales people too. If they struggle to get people to make a decision and they keep getting “let me think about it”. They’re likely “thinking about it" when they’re buying themselves. People sell the way they buy and buy the way they sell.
90% of the time the problem in your business is coming from your own personal life. Clean it up there and it vanishes. When you’re starting your own business you must be aware of the mirror and display the behavior you want to receive.
3. Patterns Of Existence
You’re not the highest version of yourself which you can imagine, you’re the lowest version of yourself which you can accept.
Most people have hopes and dreams but they rarely achieve them. They write down things they want and wish happy thoughts but nothing ever comes of it. People always regulate to the lowest version of themself which they can accept, not the highest version of themself which they can imagine.
Change comes from lifting your standards not your dreams. People binge watch tv series and leave their dreams on the back-burner for later but they will fight like hell to not breach their standards. This pattern presents itself in everybody.
Here's a common example:
If you want to observe somebodies pattern of existence, look at their bank account. Most people have two numbers "Desired balance" and "Panic balance". They want to have more money in their bank account but the force of desire is nowhere near strong enough to make them do something about it.
Then there's the "Panic balance". The number that somebody panics when their balance falls below it. The moment somebody finds themself below the panic balance they explode into action and work tirelessly until they're back in the safe zone.
These two numbers present a persons financial dreams and standards. They do nothing to achieve the dreams but they fight like hell to not breach their standards. This same pattern of existence show's up everywhere in a persons life, not just their bank account.
When you want to change your life or business try to map your dreams and standards and understand where they are. Find the lowest version of yourself you're willing to tolerate and then work on lifting that standard to where you truly want to be. When you do this you'll light a fire within you like nothing else.
I hope this helps you on your journey!

To lift out on phrase:

"You’re not the highest version of yourself which you can imagine, you’re the lowest version of yourself which you can accept."

In general this is the law.

In general this is the law.

Which is why generalities rarely manage to really exist.
